About the Easiest Detroit Style Pizza:
This is super simple and it doesn't require a lot of steps, or any complications. I used Simple Mills Pizza Dough Mix and I just needed to add the ingredients listed in the box; apple cider vinegar, olive oil and water. As easy as that!
This Detroit Style Pizza is grain free, lower in carbs and free from refined ingredients.
I also kept this pizza vegetarian, I wanted to focus on some veggies and all the cheese! Irresistible melty cheese. The thing about Detroit Pizza is the thick dough base and the sauce on top, and also the shape!
To create that thick dough effect I simply used an 8x8 baking dish and made sure to create that deep effect with the dough using my fingers. Baked the dough alone a few minutes then the toppinds were next!
Planning on a date night? This recipe is definitely a showstopper without the require of elevated cooking skills, I've got your back. Grab your favorite pizza dough mix, in this case this grain free Simple Mills one.
For the toppings and the sauce I also kept it nice and natural by using Otamot Veggie Sauce, organic, high in fiber, no sugar added and also gluten free. It's perfect for your marinara and pizza toppings!
I included some veggies to add even more texture, taste and nutrient density into this delicious and secretly healthy Detroit Style Pizza.
Overall, these are the ingredients needed for this Detroit Style Pizza:
Pizza Dough Mix (used Simple Mills)
Bell Peppers
Red Onion
Fresh Basil
Organic Cheese
Dry Parmesan
Garlic Powder
Fresh Basil
Loaded with vitamins, minerals from the veggie sauce and extra veggies, and the simple ingredients, this pizza is truly another level and seriously irresistible! You can even add some collagen powder into the pizza dough to add some gut health too.
You can now see that the ingredients are simple and the process is also super easy, great to recreate a good dinner out while being safe and comfortable at home, probably even a much more better price!
For the cheese you can use your favorite kind of cheese, I used organic mozzarella cheese that I get locally. I used one whole cup and it was so dreamy and cheesy... what dreams are made of, right?
