Pineapple Chipotle Glazed Ham (Keto & Super Easy)

So last night my family witnessed my first time ever cooking a thanksgiving dinner for them, and to my surprise it was that hard... it was easy and very relaxed. One of the factors to consider here is that instead of baking a turkey this year, we ate ham.

We are all about the turkey but ham was on our menu this year for a change and it was a winner! The reason I know it was a win is because my dad approved the good taste and the change from turkey and because my mom has expecting a very dry ham... not today, not today!

Anyways, this has was PERFECT! Juicy, tender, flavorful and extremely easy to make!

I got inspired by a few other recipes from old cookbooks (I love collecting cookbooks, anyone else loves them?) and created my own ham recipe with a twist, you know that I love my Mexican twist... plus this is somehow a similar recipe from my Mexican Paleo E-book.

First things first, I think that ham is also a great key, for this recipe I used Pederson's Boneless Smoked Uncured Ham (also sugar free, this is Whole 30 approved) which comes already sliced in spiral form.

Slow cooked... the key of a juicy recipe!

One of my favorite ways to make sure the meats that you cook are juicy, nicely tender and have that melt in your mouth texture is using a slow cooker. We use mine to make stews and other meats and every single time it nails it to create that amazing juicy meat texture that we love. Fail proof.

Plus one of the other advantages of suing a slow cooker is that it saves you so much time and steps. You just pour all the ingredients and let the slow cooker do the rest!

THE Pineapple Chipotle Glazed Ham... ingredients!

That's it, all you need for this amazing and fail proof recipe. The combination of flavors is just amazing, simple mathematics... or in this case, synergy of flavors. The juicy factors of this recipe it has to be the liquids, all about the bone broth and well, whiskey to add a little bit more of flavor!

You can see that I used granulated monk fruit, skipped the cane or brown sugar a for the low carb and keto recipe goodness, I'm telling you, this is such a fantastic staple for you to have on your pantry because it really goes beyond just baking uses.

The granulated monk fruit that I used is from Lakanto and we can get a discount on every order when we use the code PURELYHL on checkout.

You are going to love the combination of the spice of the chipotle peppers along with the whiskey and pineapple. Just epic and super easy to create and a recipe that everyone will enjoy.

As promise... a super easy and effortless holiday dinner coming your way!

  1. Mix in a blender bottle the granulated monk fruit, whiskey, bone broth, sea salt and chipotle peppers.

  2. Place the ham in the slow cooker.

  3. Put the sliced pineapple in between the slices of ham and repeat this step with the sliced garlic.

  4. Pour the liquid on top of the ham.

  5. Slow cook for 4 hours in low.

  6. Serve and ENJOY!

Overall this recipe is:

  • Keto

  • Gluten and Grain Free

  • Dairy Free

  • Nut Free

  • Delicious!

So let's start cooking and don't worry about any spice! This is a meal that you will tolerate without making your tastebuds numb from all the chile, this one is spicy, spicy good!

With love,

María
