A delicious easy to make high protein and low carb cheesy greek turkey burger, with a kick of chiltepín, a chile well known in the north of Mexico. Easy to make, baked and just a crowd pleaser, you really need to make this recipe, great for meal prep as well!

This is extremely easy to make and extremely flavorful! The ingredients are simple and short, and the process of making these is just as minimal and easy, you'll be surprised... your guests and their tastebuds! This recipe is perfect no matter the occasion but I wanted to add a little fun twist by using feta cheese, chiltepín and, of course, ground turkey.

What's in these Spicy Greek Turkey Burgers?

As I mentioned earlier, I used Eat Royo (PURELYHL for discount) low carb buns which are super versatile and made with just simple ingredients, perfect for your burgers, this one for sure! The seasonings included in this recipe are real salt, black pepper, garlic powder and some chiltepín or chili red pepper flakes.


I used extra lean ground turkey but if you prefer grass-fed beef or chicken, that will work too! As a nutritionist I know that healthy eating should be sustainable and convenient without sacrificing any taste.

Spicy Greek Turkey Burgers

Serves 3 servings


Ingredients

For the burgers

  • 1/2 lb of extra lean ground turkey

  • ½ finely chopped bell pepper

  • 1 tbsp of chopped parsley

  • ¼ cup of low fat feta cheese

  • 1 tsp of garlic

  • 1/2 tsp of crushed chiletepín (or 1 tbsp red pepper flakes)

  • 1/8 tsp of black pepper

  • ½ tbsp of dried oregano

To assemble the burgers

  • 3 low carb burgers buns (used Eat Royo- PURELYHL for discount)

  • 1 cup of leafy greens

  • 1/2 roasted red onion

  • 1/2 cup of roasted mushroms

  • 1 sliced tomato

  • 8 slices of mozzarella cheese slices

  • 4 tbsp of tzatziki spread


Method

  1. Preheat the oven at 350F.

  2. Mix the ground turkey with oregano, black pepper, garlic, feta cheese, pepper and parsley.

  3. Create 3 burgers and bake for 22 minutes.

  4. Cook the red onion and mushrooms in a non-stick skillet until soft.

  5. Add the cooked patties into a toasted bun, top with tomato, onion, mushrooms and tzatziki.

  6. Serve and enjoy!
